(FLARE) is a full service community
development agency that has been assisting residents of Buffalo and the Masten
District since 1974.
Housing
FLARE offers a variety of financial assistance programs to aid low income individuals and families who would like to purchase their first home, renovate or repair an owner-occupied property, or obtain affordable rental housing.
Community Services
FLARE provides services to young and elderly residents of the FLARE community. From after-school programs, to summer camp, and college scholarships, to lunch at the Dining Site with meals for the elderly, van transportation, and housing for homeless young women, FLARE is truly a full service agency committed to the well being of area residents.Our Neighborhood
The Fillmore-Leroy Area is centrally located in the heart of Buffalo, New York. The neighborhood features beautiful and affordable older homes, the Dewey and Manhattan Avenue playgrounds, and convenient access to major highways, schools, and community services. The historic Olmsted-designed Delaware Park and the Buffalo Zoo are both within walking distance of this diverse and re-emerging neighborhood.
